Do you have to refute word salad?

Mayonnaise is poverty!

Purple is slavery!

Hentai is forever!

Two of these statements are lies.

It must be hentai and purple, because mayonnaise is not an instrument.

Yeah, I'll miss seeing naked men in bathtubs with spaghetti strewn over their body, constantly saying how "he's gonna do it".

Yeah because it's not like the site has dozens of boards, almost each of which has it's own unique culture.

The notorious 4chan, home of NEETs, weebs, edgy teenagers, and alt-righters is broke.

After 13 years of /b/, /a/, /v/ and only four years of /pol/, the largest imageboard on the net might be coming down.

The news broke a couple of days ago, as 4chan is having trouble attracting advertisers, due to its controversial nature. Some have theorized that more notorious boards, such as /pol/, could be taken down, instead of the entire website.

Personally, I would remove /pol/ and possibly the porn boards, as they aren't the best incentive for advertisers.

What does NSG think?

And for my fellow chantards, where do we go next? Reddit? Tumblr? NSG?

This is the end of the internet as we know it. I don't browse 4chan often, but if it goes down I will be disappointed, and nostalgic for the days when it was heralded as the most evil place on the surface web.

No, I was being genuine.

If I was in the feeling to see some really messed up shit, /b/ was always there for me.

As interesting as it would be to see 4chan go, another site will probably crop up with the same notorious reputation eventually.

Pretty much this. 4chan has already spawned numerous spinoffs over the years from groups pitching a fit about this or that administrative decision and running off to make their OWN chan, with blackjack and hookers.

So basically, if that place closes, expect many babychans to proliferate like herpes across the internet landscape?

It will be The Chan Wars. Many sites competing against each other in bloodsport until one nacho stained victor stands atop the mound of basement dwelling neckbeards.

Yet only one 4chan faction can be the ilChan, given the strict rules of the Chans.

Wouldn't the evil migrate to even more dark places...like the Yahoo News Comment Section?

We have already Ken M reigning supreme over there. It would be a sin if such a horrendous thing happened.

In the long run, it would be nice to get a mass exodus to 2chan and the establishment of extra-cancerous English boards. The Japanese literally invented edgy right-wing teen nerdboys who fight actual well-paid leftist shills for forum dominance. That's where everyone should be. Of course, at that point I'd be totally down for signing up with the Chinese and earning ten cents a shitpost. ;)

Until then, I'll always have the Great Cultural Bunker of /leftypol/, where the theory is toxic but the memes are t o p g r a d e

Really? I mean I have never ever access or use 4chan, specifically because I knew of its existence late into the party.

Well, not really, I think when it was on 2012 or 2013 that I knew of 4chan, but it was more or less blocked nationally. No lose for me, though I don't know what is 4chan actually.

It is ok if some things fade away in obscurity, never to be seen again.
