I am not a Anarchist. But the philosophy does entertain me and the more intelligent of you often make REALLY GOOD POINTS that me go, "GASP!" That being said, I want a forum dedicated to me gasping. I also want to know some good material to read as it relates to Anarchy. After I'm finished with my book, I plan on reading Everyday Anarchy and if I don't like it, I want to have a backup. So here's the sitch...

You should make the poll not mutually exclusive, because most of these aren't mutually exclusive. It is possible to be a religious green communist, or a mutualist post-left individualist.

Personally, I am an egoist anarchist and an anarcho-communist. I support green anarchism, and in terms of praxis I support platformism, insurrectionism and illegalism. My favorite anarchist authors would be Renzo Novatore, Max Stirner, the "For Ourselves" collective, and Peter Gelderloos. Books I'd recommend are in my signature, along with The Ego and Its Own.

Ancom here. I consider myself an anarchist as well as a communist because the past few hundred years have shown us the kind of atrocities that can come from men in power, be they leaders of the state or leaders of industry. There have been countless crimes against humanity perpetrated by state systems. I cannot support that.

For reading, I recommend Peter Kropotkin's Mutual Aid, as well as The Conquest of Bread. The former deals more with humans' biological tendency to assist one another (in direct opposition to social Darwinism), while the latter is actual groundwork for anarcho-communist philosophy plus a history lesson on why other economic and governmental systems have collapsed in the past.

Nope. I already have a book in mind to read, I already have my idea anarchy listed in the survey, and I already have my own defense for anarchy. I'm just curious.
Besides, forums are not reliable at all. A poster may be a genius or an idiot and you can't tell.

It seems immensely difficult if not outright contradictory to reconcile the highly-organized and group-centric nature of platformism with the hyper-individualism, general anti-group mentality, and spontaneity of illegalism and insurrectionism in particular.

I'm a philosophical anarchist. The state has no inherent legitimacy or right to command, so there is no obligation or duty to obey it.

I don't know of any anarchist literature to recommend as I have arrived at my position independently, not because I was convinced by reading any such literature. I could recommend marxists.org and theanarchistlibrary.org if you're interested in reading a wide variety far-left works with having to buy it. Despite the name, the library at marxists.org doesn't just feature Marxist or even just communist literature. It has Adam Smith's "The Wealth Of Nations" on it, for example.
