Congress overrides Obama 9/11 veto

To put it more specifically due to the absurdly short limits placed on the title, Congress overrode the President's veto on a bill that would allow 9/11 families to sue Saudi Arabia.

It seems that, despite all the partisanship in Congress these days, both Republicans and Democrats can come together in the spirit of mutually raising the middle finger to the Saudis. This is the first veto override of President Obama's tenure. Interestingly, the only vote against the override in the Senate came from the drunkard staggering around on the Senate floor. I believe his name is Harry Reid.

Personally I'm ecstatic about this. It allows the families of 9/11 victims to finally get the justice they deserve. I will never understand why our government protects Saudi Arabia, a country spreading Wahhabism and death around the world. No matter what your political views, let us all agree on this: fuck Saudi Arabia.

When you say that the Saudi government funded it, do you mean that some members of the bloated Saudi Royal family had financial ties to the attackers, or is this some conspiracy bullshit where you make an unproven claim that the Saudi government as a whole committed an act of war against the US that America conveniently ignored for fifteen years?

Also, that 15 Saudis committed a horrific act, or even that Bin Landen was Saudi, does not make the entire nation collectively guilty or their government responsible.

Why not? Most of our legal system, dozens of law suits and all those "Product Warnings" are effectively for the masses because of the actions of the few.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out though, whether or not the impending lawsuits are going to be subject to the "selective justice" of this administration.

We could easily make up for it, actually, we actually have a lot more oil than many people know. We don't rely on the Middle East for our oil as much anymore, it's mostly Latin America and Canada.
