Nation States is a game where players can create their own idealized version of a country, ally with other nations in the game, pass resolutions, and vie for supremacy. Separate from that, the forums of Nation States is a place where people post in character as emissaries from their fictitious countries to brag about their totalitarian regime and brag about which memes are the dankest. The results are infurating.

Yeah not much commentary so much as Dramatic Readings of stuff cherry-picked for ridiculousness. I guess it's good for what it is(I liked the prioritizes as well as the Bernie impersonation nation name readings[so much that i made a left behind reference in the comment sections) but i expected something with more substance.

Just to put it in perspective, the rate of new nations per hour is usually averaging around 60 or so, with fluctuations depending on the exact time of day. This evening, I'm guessing since about the time that podcast went live, the new nation spawn rate has spiked almost to 800 per hour. Right now it's tapered off to a "meager" just under 600 per hour.

If the trend follows that seen previously with the Reddit and Imgur floods, we'll see an upswing in activity (including an upswing in rulebreaking, see my earlier comment about nations with penises in their names/fields/flags and other such naughtiness,) that will taper back down to normal levels within about a week. How many of the newcomers stick around remains to be seen, but we can probably expect at least half of them to die off from inactivity in about a month, though some are bound to get pulled in and hang around as well.
