Giorgio Tsoukalos, is that you?

40k answer: We do not hide the existence of filthy xenos scum from the public. Beware the alien.

Real answer: As much as I would love to have a world government:

A: There is no world government

B: Aliens (while a mathematical certainty) would be too far away to come see us.

I doubt that the world's governments are hiding aliens, I doubt that extraterrestrials have or are on the Earth. Now, suspicious events have occurred over the years, but it doesn't necessarily mean aliens. Now to Roswell, it most likely wasn't aliens, and it wasn't a weather balloon, most likely it was an experimental craft that they didn't want the public to know about. I mean, would you want everyone to know about a secret new weapon? No, so they just called it a weather balloon and let the alien theory spread.

Yes.

I am a living example.

If it wasn't a flying saucer, why would the say on the newspaper article "RAAF captures down flying saucer in Roswell region" then nearly a day later, the military changes it to it was "a failed whether balloon" How can the military mix up a highly technological craft into being a whether balloon, that makes me suspicious

No, you have it all backwards.

The extraterrestrials are hiding the world governments from the public. They've infiltrated our bureaucracy, and now it is firmly in their grasp. We're doomed.

Actually back in 2013, the CIA confirmed the existence of Area 51

The confirmation of Area 51 goes a little further back to when employees at Area 51 had a legal fight with the government to be able sue Area 51 management/ operations over exposure to hazardous materials and improper material disposal methods. This lead to former President Bill Clinton giving the ok, and the signing of the Freedom of Information Act.

Edit:
The existence of Area 51 was then reconfirmed by Russian satellite footage a few years later.

Because a) initial news reports on a breaking story are never accurate, and b) "flying saucer" sells newspapers, and "weather balloon" doesn't.

It actually provides evidence against his argument. What is more likely, aliens traveling to earth decide of all places to most often visit (in secret) a vast wasteland some 100 miles north of Vegas (maybe looking for the gambling, drinking and high end outlets and got lost, alien maps misplace Vegas?) or that "UFO"s appear there because that is where they test experimental aircraft?

Serously. There is nothing super mysterious about Area 51. They test weird looking aircraft there. (Note the "alien spotting" in the area was most common in the 40s-60s, when in addition to testing aircraft as part of the huge revolution in aerospace engineering of the time, we also were nuking the area nearby, explaining some weird lights and atomospheric phenomena).

And as far as "but probability says intelligent extraterrestrial life exists". True. But probability also says they are far too far away in space and time to detect us, or us them.
