Fuel is not the problem. Car needs new brakes and the catalytic converter is rusted to hell and there were one or two other smaller things.

Sell it, and maybe take the bus to New Hampshire, and start working for a new car there.

Yes, they are. My car needs $2000 in repairs. It's almost enough for me to give up on it and replace the car, but not quite.

Thats the debate, at what point do you buy a new one. I am quite fond of my old car, last year I put 3500 dollars into it. This year is going to be about 2500. New car payment is around 5000 a year. ...

If I buy another car, there's no guarantee that one won't crap out too. Buying a new car instead of used would wipe me out financially, so that doesn't work.

It is very much cheaper to buy a used car rather than a new car. Considering.

Sure, seems to cost more in repairs, but consider that if you buy cheap used cars that work okay and lasts you from 3-5 years, it's still cheaper than purchasing a new car.

I could buy something like that in northern Maine, but I can't afford those types of properties in NH, and I could not keep my job while I settle in if I moved to northern Maine. I've been looking at listings for mobile homes in southern NH.
