European Political Thread

Postby Koninkrijk Zeeland » Wed Jul 27, 2016 12:40 pm

First of all this not about European Union political thread but European. I love Europe but not the EU.

In this thread we will discuss European political issues.

Governments of EU nations :
Netherlands most terrible government in history
Belgium anarchy and every 6 months a new government
France terror attacks every day.
Germany trying to take over the EU and fail for the first time
Spain greece 2
Portugal greece 3
Greece totally in debt.
Belarus dictatorship.
UK left the EU and now recovers from the Nazi EU laws it was imposed on.
Italy doing oke after Berlusconi retired.
Austria closest election ever.
Ireland nothing special.

Rules :
No flaming.
No discussing American politics only if they have something do with European politics.
Use English please.
Have fun!

I think we should abolish the EU and be like the old days just freetrade and an alliance.

The nationalist right and the islamists work together in a sort of unholy alliance to destroy the liberties we all enjoy. That's all I have to say on the subject.

Hey, we krauts are only trying to take over the EU because the reptilians told us to do it! It's not like we want to, or anything.

Also, Belarus is in the other EU. Also, Germany is seeing its fair share of terrorism too, and has only through an insane streak of luck not suffered the same as France. Also, "Nazi" EU laws. Do elaborate on how they are "Nazi" in terms more elaborate than "muh nashunal sobriety".

Come on - every time the Islamists are blowing shit up, the right-wing nationalists use it as propaganda to get the people more into discriminating Muslims which in term breeds more young Islamists willing to blow shit (and often themselves) up.

If tomorrow all right-wing nationalists would somehow vanish from the planet, radical Islamic groups would have a much harder time to recruit, and if tomorrow all radical Islamic groups would somehow disappear, virtually no-one would believe the crap coming out of the mouths of the Le Pen's, Wilderses and Åkessons anymore.

And in terms of hate-filled ideology, and willingness to go extraordinary lengths to impose their bullshit upon others, there really isn't that much difference between a Muslim Brotherhood and a FN or PVV. Or between a ISIS and a NSDAP.

Incorrect. We have not left the EU yet, and if the Government really wanted to, they could simply refuse to trigger Article 50, as the referendum is not legally binding.

Well, that's the case of almost the entire European banking sector, so. Slovenia is the one Coppola shone a spotlight on recently: needless to say there's something about the entrenchment of a "German" thinking on macro and monetary economics that needs to change.

As a UK citizen, and as someone who's family suffered in the concentration camps, I would like you to justify that statement please.

How in hell, is the EU, in any way like nazi Germany?

As a native European convert to Islam I often feel conflicted about the whole happening with refugees, ISIL, anti-Islamism and so forth. To be honest I hope our governments know what they are doing and that next year it'll be all calm.

The Eurozone in general is doing quite badly, but Italy has had economic problems for a long time now. Its growth has been stagnating long before the rest of the EU started facing problems. But I agree that the way that the EU's economic policy is being administered needs to drastically change.

The current government of the UK has a democratic mandate. The outcome of one referendum, especially since that referendum has been non-binding from the beginning, doesn't have more mandate than the UK Parliament. If Parliament chose to ignore the referendum altogether, that would be within their democratic capability.
