It's not a massive blow at all.

It should be, but nobody has any integrity anymore, so everyone will just let it slide. Just as long as we beat "the enemy", it won't matter to us what our "allies" do.

Well now that the primaries are over, there's the election proper to focus on. Then there's celebrations or commiserations come November, then again in January. By then everyone will have forgotten all their problems with the primaries until 2020.
