I think with all the crusades and things like the Inquisition, christian cross is a symbol like the swastika and should be banned. It means exclusion of other religions and symbolizes Christian superiority when it is part of a flag.

I don't understand the point. Everything can be construed or angled to represent some offensive movement, group, or ideal. By your logic, why not just ban everything in existence? It's all innately offensive.

Look, the OP's point is stupid, but your sarcasm is almost worse. Nobody's saying "hurr durr ban all flags bc they TRIGGER me", the argument is "Christianity can be linked to a wide range of atrocities across the past 1000 years, give or take, so maybe Christian symbolism shouldn't be used in modern national flags". It's a stupid argument, yeah, but at least try looking at it and coming up with a good and valid argument against it before typing... whatever this is.

I agree with your idea, but we have to be careful. What makes countries violent (Like Iraq) is unstable leadership. Sadam Hussein, for example, was stable leadership, and by overthrowing him we made Iraq a madhouse.

Dictators in unstable countries are stable leadership. If the US wants to get rid of them, they MUST have a plan to provide stable leadership. We didn't have that when we invaded Iraq. We clearly had no plan for stable leadership when we overthrew Egypt's dictator and replaced him with another evil president.

America should have just kept it's butt out of Iraq and not declared war on Saddam Hussein. If we hadn't declared war, there would be no ISIS. We wouldn't have 3 brutal and deadly sides in nearby Syria (which is what is causing all these Immigrants to go flooding into Europe). I understand fighting for everyone's equality, but we have to judge when the right time is and how we are going to make sure the country doesn't turn into a madhouse by the time we've overthrown the dictator. Iraq may have been successful if we had a plan for stable leadership afterwards. Due to Bush's Stupidity, Iraq failed. Due to our lack of plan for stable, democratic, elected leadership in Egypt, that may quickly become a failed project if Obama doesn't go in and fix what he started.

I view the cross as part of cultural history, I don't really think getting rid of all religious influences (if that's even possible) would do much. Most of our problems have always been secular anyways.

I see no proper motivation to do so. Some governments have even tried to switch flags but when its over petty nonsense like this the populace is not enthusiastic.
