Yet, Stalin was big on providing ice cream to the people, as plentyful ice cream to the masses is proof the prolotariat have it good

For some reason I find it hard to disagree with that Stalinist logic.

I think you're mixing up "sweet dairy treats" and "the never-ending snows of the Russian winter".

Hot days in the summertime will do that. I have to admit. Communism as a theory has wonderful goals, it's just that humans by and large... really suck.

Which is another reason I found that little tidbit weird, but no, I have seen it in more than one source.

Oh I forgot for a moment it's ancient.

This is the revenge of all the puppies you kicked in your past life.

How's the surf?

Surf around here is usually small. Better waves in New Jersey, to be honest.

1 to 2 feet today, we are heading out in about 45 minutes.

I think it is because the beaches right here face pretty much due East. I think the waves are better on the South-facing beaches in Brunswick County and, especially, along the Outer Banks. The OBX is 4 hours away, so no good for the working stiff.

1-2 feet is about the best it gets here without a tropical system going past offshore.

Indeed the east end beaches on long Island get the best waves. We are going to a city beach, it's on the ocean facing south, so we get some wqves, but the further out east you go, the better the surfing.

And since Russians are versatile people, they tend to enjoy sweet dairy treats while suffering the never-ending snows of the Russian winter at the same time. Or the scorching heat of the Russian summer. Every time is ice cream time in Mother Russia!

Actually this series was built in Finland, but apparently AC was too futuristic during seventies-eighties. :P

"Write a tutorial for all the stuff you do so other people can do it once you leave," the boss said.

Holy crap, I do way too much for the piddly amount they pay me. I've got writer's cramp from all the typing.

It was a different time, but a healthy amount of asbestos was probably used during the construction of those train cars.

All you need to do is wait until you finish typing everything you need to do, and that is when you stop. That way, they'll be so surprised that you'd actually stop typing, that they won't give you anything else to do.

Considering my last day in the office is Wednesday..... and my last day driving the cab is Independence Day, there's precious little else I can do.

It's a plan as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

Those cookies look good.

And welcome to TET. I'm one of the cool kids.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don't get too carried away with posting images. The modly ones do get a bit of a raised eyebrow if such things begin to push towards picspam regardless of spoilers.

As with so many other things, it's a matter of moderation. And trust me, moderation is better than Moderators.

I'd rather be on chatty terms with those modly one who pass through TET. Less red boxes with white text is a good thing.

It must be said that progress has been made, though. Pics were often unspoilered in the past.

Yes, progress, no matter how slow, is always a good thing.
