While it isn't the surgeries yet, the HRT is usually the first step, and that was deemed medically necessary.

Yeah.. call me when it's fully approved. ;)

At that point we're just haggling over when. It still flies in the face of your "common sense" that trans accomodation isn't medically necessary. The Hormone Replacement Therapy was deemed such.

And not all trans people get Sex Reassignment but again, it depends on the specific case.

Yes, cause everyone calling for a harsher punishment for this fucking idiot is doing so purely because they are a bigot and not because of Mannings dumbass actions.

No, but some people likely are, given how common transmisogynistic attitudes are.

Also that really wasn't what I was saying. I'm saying that someone who does feel anger towards Chelsea Manning's supposed "dumbass actions" and is calling for her to "swing" might not feel all that much resistance to also being transphobic towards her, or if the person in question was already transphobic, they certainly aren't going to avoid throwing it on there too. That is not in any way assuming that "everyone calling for a harsher punishment" is doing it for that reason. It's merely offering a possible explanation for the seeming correlation between the two.

Ignoring the fact that he didn't call for her to be hanged, he also never brought her gender up. Unless you're suggesting that Manning should get special treatment for being transgender?

The expression "they can swing" means by a rope around their neck, not using playground equipment. You can disagree that the call to hang her is based on being trans (I've seen more people upset by her actions now that she's come out than before, but that could simply be because she is discussed more), but it's hard to say UESC wasn't calling for her to be hanged.

Sorry, for some reason I typed "hanging" instead of "lynching." didn't notice it until you pointed it out. Meant to say he wasn't calling for her being lynched, only hanging, which could mean judicial and not via lynch mob, and in any case, her being transgender had absolutely nothing to do with the comment. Unless one thinks because she's trans, she should be exempt.

Her convictions were for espionage, stealing government property, computer fraud, and minor military infractions.

You have very odd ideas about what constitutes a "lower" sentence.

And I take it you can provide evidence that actually happened?

Misgendering and a call for someone to die. But it's all incidental right Gren? ;)

You don't seem to get that the call for death isn't because she's trans, its because of what she did.
