Meanwhile, I'm currently looking for an affordable backpack. My friend got a $200 backpack at a yard sale today for just $8! I am very envious of that, the cheapest backpacks I can find online are around $70-$80 and I just don't have that kind of money right now.

I'm still saving up for the $500 smoke jumper boots I want.

The backpack is the first of my problems really, the goal is to - over time - slowly purchase and acquire the equipment necessary for backpacking.

Oh, yeah, totally forgot about equipment. Hell, a good gaming headset like my Sennheiser was already pretty pricey (Almost $200!), and while it's a great headset/mic combo for gaming, it still isn't professional recording grade gear.

I'd given it a thought to do some on the side (I still have the raw footage of three episodes of Zelda 1 I did last summer, thank you Soldi for recommending it to me, I had a map and literally had no idea what I was doing. Hilariously ran around without a sword for about 20 minutes in the first episode. I'd never played a Zelda game before that) and the voice audio was dreadful. The only mics I have are the ones integrated into my computer, and then one integrated into three of the headsets I have, but are meant for like phone calls, and not actually recording your voice. To get a decent mic it was way more than I could reasonably splash at the time.
And when I did start racking more in I was splashing it on designer bags and makeup instead.

Well, when you're looking to upgrade, this is what I've got right now. (Also, holy crap, Newegg's got it for $100 off right now!) Though the Game One isn't soundproofed, it's very comfortable because of the air vents in the ear cups- I just don't need a soundproof headset in my gaming environment. Only headset I can literally wear for hours on end comfortably. And my Xenoverse gaming buddies tell me that the audio from the mic comes through very clear and with minimal background noise.

Yeah you need to see how much weight you intend to carry, and if you can even carry it. Find a backpack that provides good support. You want the weight on your hips, not on your back.

We wear $360 Wolfpack wildland backpacks here. The weight isn't even noticible. I doubt you'd be willing to spend that much but they are nice.

Where were you Planning on running for office?

State representative in Vermont. My local rep isnt all that popular, and is also unopposed this year. Ive spent the last month talking to the VPP state chair/ committee about a possible run. Got all the signatures required.

unfortunately you base the pack on what you plan to do with it. you dont want to use a pack that is too big or too small. how many days you want to be out and what kind of gear do you need, determine the pack.
