Impossible unless we send in troops and occupy and have everything done and run by Americans. The government will just steal and run everything into the ground. And the corruption is at all levels. Who will build things? The construction companies are corrupt. Who will maintain the houses? Run the hospitals? The factories?

And why throw that money at a place like Iraq? We should be doing what you propose in Detroit. Not some place like Iraq.

The Iraqis reckoned it would take 2-3 weeks to take the place fully (I'm taking that as a baseline-to-optimistic figure), but one can hope that such an isolated Daesh pocket might begin to collapse as they claim.

But Iraq did not use American help? That's because America wasn't really interested in helping so much as "well, we fucked up by invading, we can't just bounce and look like jackasses."
