I'm starting to get the feeling that he only was like that because he'd never get anywhere in the election as a real socialist.

I mean, he's talking about grassroots revolutions and the need to educate, organize, and mobilize... Plus he's publically praised Eugene Debs.

Either way, he's getting millions of young people to actually google the word "socialism", I can't tell you how many socialists were Berniebros before July.

I think that's pretty much correct; it's actually a little odd that he describes himself as a "socialist" when he is in fact a social democrat.

Oh yeah, but I'm putting "classic" up there coz the old social democrats wanted to reform their way to socialism. Very different to their Third Way counterparts today, they barely deserve the name.

No, I find him to be kind of a dumbass... but in a way, he did kinda get people into more leftist ideas, so I am indifferent, mostly. A good meme either way.

His issue was more with Clinton, and he quoted Trump about saying that seeing Sanders endorse Clinton, is like seeing Occupy Wall Street endorse Fannie Mae. He then said that meant something is seriously wrong with the left in America, and if they lose to Trump, it will force them to reevaluate their focus.

Never got why educated people support communism.

In capitalism, you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of being rich or poor. In communism, it's 1/99. What makes people think they have the luck/skill to become the 1% if they can't even succeed in a 50/50 society???
