They ought be represented also. No one ought be overlooked, conceptually. Though I do feel that the numbers of those who served and fought ought mean something more than it appears to mean. Seems like we have a habit of, excuse the pun, white-washing history in an attempt to reflect current positions and attitudes. It seems a little disingenuous, to be frank.
Veteran's Day is not about current diversity. It's about honouring veterans. At least, in theory. It's not supposed to be a touchy-feely pat on the back for our changing military and social demographics. It's about honouring those who served, and gave life or limb to defend us and ours. Into that thought bubble, I can certainly see the cause for frustration with the chosen display from Google.
To be honest, as white vet, I really don't care
As a white veteran myself, I don't particularly care either. I have more important things on my plate. Like every other conflict that's coming. But I can see why some may take offence.
