This is sort of off-topic. It seems unlike the rest of the world, the Germans had TV back then. It lasted 9 years until the fall of Germany. Found this documentary which talks about it. It includes some of examples of the German shows and unseen footage. So for those that have to choose between Russia and Germany and cannot live without tv, remember the Germans before and during WW II were the only ones transmitting tv programs. Now the question, how many tv sets were there in Germany back then.

Yes, the Nazis realised and understood the appeal of mass media such as the home television for disseminating propaganda. The rest of the west made do with the cinema newsreel.

After watching the documentary, it seems most of the German leadership did not take tv really seriously. Even there propaganda secretary gave up on it. Thus, the TV people were mostly left to there own devices without really much interference from the political machine. Found out that the Germans even transmitted from the Eiffel tower. Seems the French had some sort of tv transmitter there.
