So, in the UK, since 2014, (so this is old news, but I found this out recently), Muhammad is the most popular name. This is because the amount of Muslims in the UK has increased greatly in recent times. This also shows the traditionally Christian culture of the UK being put on the spot, being challenged by Islamic culture. In the world, Islam is also on the rise on a bigger scale.
So NSG, is it a good, bad or weird thing that Mohammad is now the most popular name in the UK? Is it a sign of Christian culture's demise in the UK?
My opinion:
In my mind, being a citizen of the UK, but not living there (so it has no bearing on me), this is odd. The UK has been one of the greatest Christian nations to have ever existed in terms of power and influence, and it has historically had a national church. While losing their colonial interests around the world, large amounts of immigration from Islamic countries mainly have been going into the UK, changing the demographics greatly. This is something that is in my mind not a good thing. A nation has the right to take in immigrants, and should generally do so, however, a nation is also something that should preserve its culture, and it would seem that having such a drastic demographic change is not a good thing, it will not bring stability, and it will not bring peace.
