I concur, things like this only seem to happen more often because the media, you know that thing that tells you what's going on, focuses on it. Things like this and school shootings not only seem like they happen more often but with how they are treated they do in fact become more frequent. Like a self fulfilling prophecy. Some nutjob just has to think "I can go down in history like this!" and bam you've got a shooting. Which in turn generates more attention when the media proclaims "how horrible!"

Specifically the Italian, Irish, and German prejudice I imagine my family would know best of. Such prejudices were common when my family first came over here from Europe.

I think it is the product of people resisting arrest in hopes of becoming a martyr as they won't get famous by any other means.

I'll admit that I am not the classiest gal. But why would they keep resisting arrest if the cops are so trigger happy in the first place? They've got to doing it for some reason.

Just because the media is paying extra special attention to these specific cases doesn't make it prevalent.

Not to mention, the media doesn't even care if they're actually cases of racism or police brutality, and just like to spin those rumors whenever a black guy is killed by a white cop.

They shouldn't be resisting in the first place unless they are doing something illegal/wrong. I'm a black Latino and every time I've met a police officer I've been courteous and you know what has happened? Absolutely nothing. Amazing I know. I have distanced myself from the BLM arguments as I knew the Hayward cop who was murdered recently.

No.

All PEOPLE, even if they happen to be outstanding model citizens, need to surrender and law down unless the arresting officer is violating their rights.

Samuel DuBose was attempting to flee the scene, resisting arrest in the process. This did not warrant a shooting, but it also doesn't warrant defending his attempt to flee and resist arrest.
