The Arab world's message to the Kurds:

Dear Kurds,

fuck you.

Kind regards,

the Arab world.
O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

Are the Russian targeting systems seriously that shit?

Even the best targeting systems can miss. And they are only as good as the user. Bombing is grossly overrated and inherently prone to error. That being said the Russians are heavily relying on unguided bombs dropped from obsolete airplanes.

They're doing what the US should do, but we should one up them. Operation linebacker iii. Obliterate ISIS positions and cities under thousands of tons of bombs.

edit: And we'd be doing with some of the same planes that flew in operations linebacker I and II!

Not our allies, but but if ISIS controls a town that is the line of advance for the Peshmerga (sp?) or other forces fighting ISIS and its shown that ISIS is holding the town...flatten it.

That is an idiotic idea. Why are we fighting ISIS if not to protect the innocent people being persecuted by them?

If we adhered to such a plan, we'd be no better than them.

The Kurds are being shut out by the Arabs, and the West will all be too happy to help them out in doing that, because they'd rather maintain this notion of the guys enabling radical Islamic terrorism throughout the world are actually friends.

The United States explictly refuses to even consider partitioning Iraq.

The US Embassy in Baghdad issued a statement Sunday saying recent reports suggesting that the Congress would be voting on the partition of Iraq were “simply untrue.”

“The U.S. government has consistently supported and remains committed to the unity of Iraq, and has regularly spoken out against foreign interference in Iraq’s sovereign affairs,” the statement said.

Just as I expected.

Also:

Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei tells the visiting Iraqi president that Americans should not be allowed to even consider partitioning Iraq.

Russia says it will never accept the partition of Iraq.

Iraqi lawyers are trying to get al-Maliki put on trial as a war criminal.

It's paradoxical really. On the one hand they're brilliant for setting up propaganda on website most of the internet ignores.

On the other hand, the second NationStates reaches the fame level of reddit and tumblr you know DHS is going to be swarming in like bees.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.

If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Assuming these are actual ISIS members (and if so, why don't they come onto these megathreads?), I wonder why the mods don't lay down the hammer.

I mean, wasn't the Greater German Reich banned or something over Nazism?

Oh please, this is the same site where swastikas (even Buddhist ones) are banned but anyone can use the Daesh flag at their leisure. And that's just the lightest of the oversights made in its history.

What I meant was that if we can confirm they are actual ISIS members, then why aren't the mods laying down the hammer. As far as I know, the mods know of the region, but haven't taken any concrete stance just yet nor do we know if this is just a roleplay region (IIRC the GGR was one itself) or if they are actual ISIS members.

IIRC it's because Nazism triggers people that badly that they'd mistake the Buddhist swastika for Hitler adoration.

But the Hammer and Sickle, Daesh flag, etc is all fine and dandy.

I think I'm already aware of their reasoning, thank you.

You'd think the Daesh flag would automatically be seen as "celebrate (celebrating) violence against RL people," though.

Putin said something very odd today. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35070354
In an update on Russian operations, Mr Putin said the military was now supporting Free Syrian Army (FSA) forces - which are fighting President Assad and have been bombed by Russia.
However, a Kremlin spokesman later appeared to contradict this, saying Russia was supplying weapons to "the legitimate authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic".

He's almost certainly lying.

About which? If Putin is supplying the FSA then that means Bashar done fucked up.
