Look I've admitted this is a extreme but not selling a particular item that doesn't line up with a policy of an entity, is not the same as not being able to shop there at all. That is a completely different level.

What policy? One that's strictly against racial hatred/prejudice in all its forms? Then why is Apple still selling apps with Nazi swastikas and Adolf Hitler's mug on them? This has nothing to do with being principled. It's all about bowing to trends in public opinion.

Yeah, this is nothing more then a PR stunt, I didn't deny that. I'm trying to say that not selling an item because of a decision, smart or not, is not discrimination. In this context, maybe favoritism. Still bad, but not the same.

If it works, if it looks shiny and hip, and the price and quality is good, then I buy. At worst this ban on Confederate items just leaves a slight bitter taste in my mouth. But overall the product quality of Apple prevails.

What do you mean?

I am very satisfied with the design, user friendliness, style and design of the Mac and the iPhone. And they haven't been breaking down.

Slavery is mentioned in some of the seceding declaration but it is not the only reason.

Should I be arguing two different things on two different threads on a similar topic?

Personally, I don't particularly care about pieces of colored fabric, but banning every app with the Confederate flag- including history apps and strategy games- seems outright absurd and really kind of unjustified.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I needed clothes and you clothed me; I was sick and you looked after me; I was in prison and you came to visit me... Truly, whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers and sisters, you did for me."

In some? Find me one that doesn't mention it at all. I dare you.

Its the best.

I consider them a peerless industry leader. There is no alternative. Not for me.

Sure I might be a bit annoyed that they would discriminate against Confederates, but I judge by the merit of the products they create. You can just tell that when they build something... there's always a vision and its always about quality, heart and flair.

Apple wouldn't do that. They are a good company.

Oh no, a private corporation has made a perfeectly legitimate decision! Anarchy will reign in the streets!

But honestly, who cares? This isn't hurting anyone. Though I'm a little sad to see historical games pulled off the proverbial shelves, this is the company's decision.

I have a feeling this is just a rumour started by Apple's rivals to try and undermine the company... probably from Microsoft. I wouldn't put too much stock on it.

This is what I'm tempted to say every single time an NSG thread comes up that's about some supposedly shocking news

Hey I'm still going to buy Apple's stuff. I doubt this is going to impact the economy or anyone's personal lives all that much. Even the Confederates can just buy their games from other places.

First bit is a complete and total lie given how Steve Jobs spent years engaging in wage theft across the entirety of silicon valley. But yeah, Apple includes built-to-fail features such as non-removable batteries.
