Just my opinion, but I think that the while confederate flag should be removed from state buildings, people should be completely free to display it in other places, such as memorials, museums, etc.

I feel that removing the flag from state buildings shows that the U.S. doesn't support racism and hate based on things such as ethnicity or religion. However, I also feel that it is restricting free speech by preventing people from publicly displaying the flag. Thus, I believe that people should not be restricted from flying it at places such as their homes, memorials, and other places.

Plus, an orange charger with welded shut doors isn't nearly as cool without the flag on top

I was under the impression that we were talking about the rights of private citizens, which of course don't apply to state governments.

One can fly the flag on one's front yard and burn crosses next to it for all I care, but it's rather stupefying that people are demanding that state government has the right to fly a symbol of secession against the federal government.

Personally, I don't understand the desire for states' rights. Dividing a country like the Founding Fathers did just has micromanagement and logistics problems written all over it, which have shown their ugly head in the last 150 years many times. I feel that we would've been better off ditching the whole states concept and just having one giant country, but it's too late to try that.
