Well, Harper has indicated that he's resigning as party leader if they don't come in first. Beyond that, what do you mean?

Reminds me of Jim Prentice after the PCs lost in Alberta. Even though Prentice won his riding, he threw a hissy fit and resigned, leaving his seat vacant.

Their part will go into a total meltdown, and blow up into a GOP style Civil War.

I'm not sure that can happen anywhere but America :p

Ontario will be an interesting battleground. The Cons will pick up quite a bit of support here as a minimum.

Well the Progressive Conservatives were wiped out. They only had two seats after the 1993 election.

Though I should mention that Mulroney still won the largest government in Canadian history, at least in terms of % of seats won relative to the HoC's size at the time.

Which shows actually, just how bad their collapse was.

The Liberals: so metal they killed their opposition.

I mean in terms of their platform and such, will that change majorly if they do poorly?

Oh, I've no idea. Probably not much.

I have to admit watching these election results is more exciting than watching the Blue Jays, but that being said, I hope they win tonight.

Apparently people wanted Harper out really badly...

I think he'll keep his seat, though. His riding is Calgary-Southwest, which is fairly Conservative.

If the Conservatives do that badly, I sincerely hope that the true Progressive Conservatives break away from the Harper Conservatives and form their own party. There are still some good PCs left in the party like Michael Chong who could lead a new PC party.

God I hope so.

If the CPC losses big time, I hope the moderate Cons allow themselves to be called Tories again, split from the CPC and join the Progressive Canadian Party.

It was a mix. Reform only gained in the West. PC's lost a ton of support in Quebec, Atlantic Canada, and Ontario.
