This is, quite possibly, one of the silliest ideas for a thread I've ever seen.
Short socks. I'm almost always wearing cargo shorts, and wearing long socks would look painfully stupid. I go sockless more often than not though.

I prefer long socks (knee and above) on skirts, shorts, and at home for relaxation days. Short and mid-sized socks for jeans or tights or when working out.

To be honest, I thought this thread was about a certain English King.

It depends on the time of year. Only madmen wear long socks during summer here.

Always past the ankle. If it is cold, up the calf.

Long socks. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of them right now. I've mostly got short ones that only go halfway up the calf.

I really do not have a preference unless the length is dependent on occasion.

Long socks. Sometimes really long socks. Like over the knee long socks.
Though really, I prefer being able to wear no socks at all. As soon as the weather's warm enough, I switch to sandals and wear those as much as I can.

Depends on what you're wearing, of course!

I prefer short socks when the weather is warm and humid because the longer they are, the more heat they trap. However, I do wear long socks when it gets colder and during soccer to keep shin guards in place.
Also, who gives a shite?

I've always worn short socks that only go just above the ankle. Long socks are frivolous in my opinion. They do look sexy af on women, though....

What better a style than a suit with long socks?

That's clearly an octopus, not a squid.
