I've been to Texas. For 2 hours.

The people were complete assholes, but that may just be a momentarily thing.

Politics, hunting ranches, guns, and the conservatism has earned itself a spot on the list of NV.

You must've been in the metroplex also I understand why you put it on your never visit list. But I ask you to reconsider that Texas is as diverse as America it's self. Plus I have the hutch you've haven't been to the heart of Texas. ;-)

Well it also depends on what type of hunting it is. Up there it's a lot more about killing what you eat amd not for sport (although sport hunting is a thing). A lot of the guides don't let people go out for trophy hunting and will ether flat out refuse you or they will take the carcass and uses it as they see fit ecclesial my if they are native.

I've never hunted in Texas before but I doubt the whole eat what you kill mentality is as prevalent down there.

It's still a turn off for me, but that's just me.

That's usually why it's one of the reasons I'll never visit Texas again, usually because of their liking for canned trophy.

Well it isn't for everyone thats a given. But yeah I've been to Texas a few times and the people aren't that bad but the culture just seems to be a giant biggest dick contest. I'm sure places like Austin and San Antonio arent all that bad but I've still got some issues with just the states culture is all. Honestly has nothing woth conservatism however Alaska's a pretty red state on its own and I live in Kansas which is way more red than ether Texas or Alaska to be honest it's more that the cultures more relaxed and about having a good time.

The people here are just like everywhere else: some good, some bad, most just there.

The 10+ feet of snow and the rude people are only in certain parts of the state. The whole state gets snow, but Buffalo gets a lot more than NYC.

Some people have different definitions of "rude."

I keep meeting people that talk about Massachusetts as if all the locals were spitting on them every time they walked down the street, and I really don't know what anyone is doing that out-of-state people find so offensive. I would ask, "What are we doing that is so 'rude'?" but the people who complain pretty much always guess that I didn't grow up here. They'll say they can tell because I am not "rude" like the people that grew up in Massachusetts, and I really have no fucking clue what they are talking about.
