I've still not recovered from all that time laughing over the last Falklands thread, and now I get to see imperialist apologists like Manisdog and Calismera say that the UK is indulging in a plan to take over the Antarctic.

This is truly a beautiful sight.

British people established a settlement on land that was uninhabited at the time.

The current population want to remain a part of Britain, and do not want to be part of Argentina.

Are you suggesting those people should not be allowed the right of self determination ?

Yes exactly, lets get back to topic for christ's sake, I stand with my statement that

Falklands should be given to the British, it is not conducive to the general interests of the world.

I agree.

Falklands should be British. I'm glad you've come round.

Of Course not, they are British so its obviously an elaborate ruse to help construct nuclear artillery batteries and naval bases aimed at South America for the inevitable invasion and Brittifcation of the land.

Not according to Wiki. The US and Russia have research stations on the Antarctic continent but do not claim territory.

Edited post in light of my failure to be able to differentiate between territorial claims and research stations. Thanks Farn!

It's okay, if Argentina tries to violently take over the Falklands again, we will send Bill O'Reilly down there again to report to us in the dangerous war zone.

The people of the Falkland Islands have a right to vote on whether they want to stay with Britain or go with Argentina. Referendums have shown that the people of the Falkland Islands want to stay with Britain.

And people from Argentina were implanted there as well by the colonial government.

And French people were implanted there by the French Government,

And Spanish people by the Spanish government.

It was no ones land.

Should Argentina give their land back to the Native Americans? In-fact, shouldn't the whole of The America's which were colonised by non-American countries give back their land?

As I have said before, and I say it again, the main objective is not give Argentina the land but not to give the British any territory in that area
