I am agnostic but I identify myself as a Catholic. Out of respect for the good-doing popes, such as Fransciscus nowadays.

So I can be called an agnostic Roman Catholic.

Really?

So I traded pics with this chick on Kik (she goes to the same school I do, but she's 19 ungrad and I'm 25 grad), right?. She's pretty cute (great body, cute face, etc.) and we're gonna chill tomorrow night. I'm feeling pretty confident I'm gonna get some (she said "she likes to fuck"). But the problem is this other chick I know saw my phone and is now angry at me. I know BFD. Well she lives nearby where I work, and sometimes when I'm closing/opening, I'll stay at her house because she's like 10 minutes away from where I work. But now she's really pissed at me. So I dunno. You know what I'm saying, homes?

Ugh.

Agnostic Catholic? Is that even possible? Seems just like "Gay Republican."

I am a Catholic Christian. The Catholic Christian Church is the church described in the Acts of the Apostles as "The Way," and it is the original Christian Church started by Jesus, and carried on by his Apostles. Over the last 2,000 years, several people have broken off from the Church because of different interpretations of the faith and/or doctrine. For example, the Christians located in eastern Europe and Asia in the mid-eleventh century believed that the Pope did not deserve to have authority over God's Church, and they broke off to create the Orthodox Church. Later in the sixteenth century, Martin Luther exposed and protested 90+ reasons why the Catholic Church was corrupt, and he started the Lutheran Church, which was the first Protestant denomination. In the end, I still believe that the Catholic Church is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church because it is the one created by Jesus himself, and carried on by his disciples. It is a Church run by humans, so there is bound to be corruption, but in the end, it is still the Church that Jesus commanded be built on the rock that is Peter, the first Pope.

You probably had a point with Agnostic Catholics, but then you threw Gay Republican into the mix and they do exist.

I'm an apatheist - acting with apathy, disregard, or lack of interest towards belief or disbelief in a deity.

An apatheist is someone who is not interested in accepting or denying any claims that gods exist or do not exist. An apatheist lives as if there are no gods and explains natural phenomena without reference to any deities. The existence of gods is not rejected, but may be designated unnecessary or useless; gods neither provide purpose to life, nor influence everyday life, according to this view.

This apatheistic argument states that morals are present in human society and do not rely on religion to be a part of the human experience. Apatheists recognize that religion may provide a "comfort" for many people around the world, but apatheists do not need religion to be content with the morality of their lives and therefore live without it.

Apatheism also represents an extreme form of skepticism that argues that there is no rational ground for accepting any philosophical position. It is often associated with moral relativism.

Perhaps I should've clarified, "openly." :P

I agree that there cannot be an "Agnostic Catholic." I think the better term would be "non-practicing Catholic." ;)

Gotcha, in that case, I'm Roman Catholic. I was Southern Baptist, but converted to Catholicism. Lost faith for a bit, not sure if I have any at the moment, but the current Holy Father gives me hope. And so I plan on going to Mass again. I still disagree with the Church on some things, but he who agrees with anything absolutely is fanatical. So that's ok.

Well, I respect that you took the effort to become a convert. I think that shows a lot of determination to call yourself a Catholic, but it is still much more important to practice your faith by going to church, confession, et cetera. I would encourage you to talk to a priest or someone else who understands the faith about the things you don't agree with, and try going back to church. There is a radio channel called "Relevant Radio" where people can call in and talk about their faith. I would encourage you to find out what channel it is in your local area, and tune into it. I think you will get a lot of your questions answered by doing those things.

Yes, it's possible. And yes, there are gay republicans.
