ron paul ignored by mainstream media outlets: corruption?

Postby Rhodisia » Tue Jan 27, 2015 2:27 pm

holy shit

i just watched this video and it's actually pretty compelling the degree to which ron paul (and other minor GOP/democratic or third party candidates) are largely ignored by news outlets like fox, cnn, etc

also rather funny that despite this ignorance on the part of mass media, ron paul is actually quite popular among youth

That title.

The issue with Ron Paul is that their son (Rand Paul) is far more credible, and adaptive (not as reclusive with their foreign policy) compared to dear old dad.

Not that I would support either of them anyway.

Ron Paul is harder to communicate. He doesn't fall into the stereotype of the party, hence he polarizes less.

Which isn't what the media wants. They don't want to spend time explaining you what he wants, or what the results of that would be. They very much prefer simple things that have already been explained to you by pundits for decades, things that polarize, pick a side, doesn't matter which, just support someone and hope they win the duel. Because that means you keep watching.
Impeach freedom, government is welfare, Ron Paul is theft, legalize 2016!

He isn't ignored. He's essentially had the same chance to sell his patent medicine as everyone else (and significantly more of a chance than most candidates considered fringe), and he hasn't been able to sell it. If he's getting less attention now, it's because he's even less relevant now that he's out of office.

It's less about 'corruption' and more about 'ratings'.

No one other than internet libertarians cares about Ron Paul, and the minor GOP and Dem candidates and 3rd Parties don't even have that. The networks run with the candidates who people will actually tune in to watch and listen to.
