I suspect that the "vast majority" of people don't care. As for having a trans-gender person in the bathroom with you, I doubt you would even notice. This may come as a shock to you but not all non-heterosexual people are sex maniacs.

On an intellectual level, you're likely correct; most denizens of Kentucky would probably prefer that they not knowingly share a bathroom with someone with indeterminate sexual characteristics or gender-identity confusion. The point that you have to be aware of, though, is that many such individuals are all but impossible to distinguish from the average run-of-the-mill user of said bathroom. While the idea is one most object to, the reality is that the vast majority of the time a non-standard bathroom user would cause absolutely no disruption or difficulties, being functionally identical to any other bathroom user.

As such, trying to have a law on the books about circumstances where said scenario is not the case is really just political pandering, as it will in all likelihood be extremely seldom invoked.
