Laptops are designed to break after the standard warranty of 2 years runs out. I ended up getting extra insurance (not actually worth it given that my computer started malfunctioning back during the original warranty) so the amount of time that it was required to be repaired or I be reimbursed was extended for two years. Of course, there aren't any spares around for a broken mainboard for some reason (my guess is that it's because laptops are designed to break so you have to buy a new one after two and a half years, so being able to fix them is counterproductive). So I get 60% of the computer's price back, which amounts to less than half of what I paid.

Aye, not worth the extra insurance.
But something's better than nothing.
I'm sorry your computer broke at all.

It's actually not. Most of what I did with my computer I probably still could be doing for a while. The money is not enough to buy a new one (at least not one I wouldn't have to replace soon) and I don't have any prospects of getting enough to do so. I probably would be better off with that broken computer than with the reimbursement.
I'm sorry your computer broke at all.
Thanks =3
