We've got a noodle bar around the corner that does a Chilli Udon which is asparagus and shitake mushrooms stir fried with udon noodles in a hot peanut, chilli and garlic sauce (description from menu) - and it's damn tasty. Not much help to you as you're >4,500km away, but you might be able to recreate the recipe at home if you can get the ingredients (I don't know how hard it is to source things where you are.)

As a Brit, my favourites from here are probably fish and chips and a proper Sunday roast at the pub.

Food from elsewhere:

Greece - Kleftico
Austria - Wienerschnitzel
Germany - Weißwurst
Ireland - Went to Dublin a couple of weeks ago and all the food was pretty good. The two best things I had were Beef and Guinness stew and Bangers and Mash (champ, of course). I also really like Colcannon
India - hard to pick as it changes depending on my mood, I do like madras, jalfrezi, jaipuri, korai... (I could go on)

Will be heading to Bratislava for New Year's and am planning on sampling the Bryndzové halušky.
Save the Creme Egg!

Asparagus doesn't exist in Brazil, shiitake is expensive as hell, I'd likely have to go to São Paulo to buy udon and decently-priced shiitake.

I've always disliked the taste of fried food. I prefer baked chicken. As an added bonus it's also much healthier than fried.

No I am suggesting you try going to southhall, because you cannot eat here in India as your stomach cannot take proper Indian food, I am not being racist or anything but just saying if it happens with Americans than it should happen to you.

If any Indian restaurant is selling beef, it must be not Indian

Most "Indian" restaurants in the UK are Muslim, usually Muslim Indian or Bangladeshi, so they often sell beef.

It's a bit like how almost all "Chinese" restaurants are ran by Malaysians, Indonesians, or at best people from Hong Kong. Oh and all the Italian restaurants here are ran by either Arabs or Albanians.

This my absolute favourite though. There's a "Polski Sklep" near where I live (Polish shop), it's ran by a Sikh family.

Britain. Nuff said.
