Why do so many people hate Islam?

Just because of 9/11, c'mon 13 years ago, a lunatic fringe group did a horrible thing, but now peoplehave so much hate. We don't hate Germans because of Hitler and Nazis but yet we hate Muslims because of al-Qaeda and Bin Laden?

People will probably forget about it in 70 to 80 years when we start hating China.

Germans at that time were fooled by poisonous ideology. I don't hate them.
Islamists have slightly dangerous ideology. I don't hate them, but suspicious.

Also Nazism is not a current threat. Surely that ideology isn't very powerful.

I like Islam, I don't hate it. I think the hate lies in the Arab Spring and the regimes that were set up as a result.

That was the point?

Well, considering there are far more lunatic fringe groups in Christianity and Judaism that nobody wants to talk about, and the mathematics and programming technology responsible for the device you used to post this came from the Islamic Caliphate (Mostly Islamic Spain) which can be traced back to prophet Muhammad (saws). If people really hate Islam or Muslims so much, they should quit using their phones and computers.

Logic = Power

I will have to make one point.
Atrocities committed by Islamic extremists did not suddenly stop after 9/11, so quoting that event as if it was the last time something happened is not a good way to make a point. As for your question, part of the problem is that most of the world's media focuses on the Islamic extremists of the world, not the Christian extremists or Jewish extremists (before anyone uses that as way to skewer me, there are Jewish extremists, there are extremists of every kind).

There are probably thirty reasons to your question, the exact same brand of hate that's been directed at one group or another by one group or another probably since thirty of "us" ran into thirty of "them", there was a quick huddle, not everybody wanted to fight, somebody wanted to talk, but the chief needed a win so it was "them Gecko worshippers, us bird people, now shut up and get your stick ready, we're gonna go fuck those lizzylickers up."

My answer is this:

Our country spends over $1,000,000,000,000 on a boogey man budget, so there has to be a boogey man.

Because the thing people forget is that the people who get those trillions year after year are going to want that money, whether there's a legitimate enemy or not.

Because if a kid in Chicago would stab somebody for their shoes, imagine what the smart people in the world would do for a trillion dollars?

Maybe you should give it a little more substance, it's kind of short.

If the mods come to this thread and they don't enjoy the responses, then they look at the short and potentially baitish OP, the thread probably won't stay up.

They are bigoted and close-minded. They saw 9/11 and assumed that was all Muslims. It has a lot to do with xenophobia and anti-immigrant rhetoric as well.

Debate

Now lets add Malcolm X into the mix, and Malala Yousafazai and Republicans.

For a reason, weren't all of the hijackers tied to an extremist Islamist group? Then it is literally us vs them.

No

We separate humans into two groups: Extremist, and non-extremists.

The FBI actually admitted that they had no evidence that directly tied Usama ibn Laden to 9/11

Of course, because Osama Bin Laden was the mastermind.

Well you are either tied to a hate filled group or not. My nation encourage more peaceful means of creating a Caliph or theocratic state. Like protesting, or petitioning to government.

What should I do then?

Maybe because people have hated our deen for 1400 years. In the time of Muhammad (pbuh), him and his followers were beaten, tortured, and spit on in the streets. One woman had a spear driven through her genitals because she wanted to become Muslim. This anti-Islamic bigotry is nothing new, it is just more prominent now because of current events and the corporate trek for oil in the middle east.
