Is it bad to say I see similarities between the greek people and the native americans in terms of history? Both lived in a particular area for thousands of years and had great civilizations, foreign conquerors came, started genocides, forced them off their land and to convert to a new religion, and now little to none of them remain in those areas. I'm thinking of Constantinople and Anatolia in particular in concern to the greeks.

Indeed. I think for the Big Dipper, both groups have legends involving bears as for why they see it as, well, a fucking bear.
