How many countries have you been to?

Postby Port Dublin-Venice » Sat Oct 18, 2014 8:03 pm

Unfortunately I've only travelled to ten (without counting the United States) countries but since a very young age I have been interested in travel and seeing the world. Whenever I have the time and money I look forward to travelling more extensively.
So far these are the ten countries I've been to:
Canada (2 times);
United Kingdom (1 time);
France (1 time);
Germany (1 time);
Spain (1 time);
Italy (1 time);
Austria (1 time);
Belgium (1 time);
Netherlands (1 time);
Sweden (1 time).
Additionally, I've gone to Puerto Rico, the American and British Virgin Islands and Bermuda but I couldn't decide on whether to classify those as countries.
So, what/how many countries have you visited?

I went to Russia like 4 or 5 times can't remember. Two trips involved going to Moscow and Saint petersburg. Another to Vladivostok. I was planning to go to Chechnya in 2011 but I changed my mind. The last trip was in the Sakhalin Oblast which was by far the best.

I also went to Japan but this was just to continue the flight to Russia so I don't think this counts.
What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Four, technically. I live in Canada, been to the US, sailed on a ship in Bermuda, and technically been to Italy.

See, I was on a boat tour in the 10000 islands (<3) and I passed through this small body of water which the navigator told us was actually under the jurisdiction of Italy.

I was in the preparing for participation in one of those silly govt-sponsored tours throughout the DPRK, but am holding off on it until the security situation within Pyongyang normalizes.

Well, I did visit Canada when I was 2-3 years old. I don't remember it at all, so I'm not sure if it counts.

US
Canada
Mexico
China
UK
Germany
Austria
France
Italy
Catalunya (Spain for those misguided souls who don't believe in Catalan nationalism.)

12 if you count any place I ever set foot, even to change planes.
