Personally I'm more agnostic than I am anything else. I think the real question is, does it matter if god exists? Why should people not have the freedom to sing songs and think thoughts to whoever they want? Religion in and of itself does not cause any problems, it's what people do I with religion that causes problems. The same principle is true with money. Should we ban money because of the class divides it creates? Or the crime people commit for it?

No, we're talking about something physical that supposedly had/has interaction with the universe in some way, shape or form. And we should be able to test/measure that. And if we cannot, then it doesn't exist. Period.

You place limitations on G-d then. If you place a limitation on G-d then it's no longer all powerful.

None beyond the purely logical:


1) The universe is the totality of everything that exists. (Definition)
2) The universe is measurable, testable and observable. (Taken as axiomatic, utterly necessary axiom for doing basically anything).
3) Thus, anything that is not measurable, testable and observable [NB: This does not mean "easy to measure/observe"] is not a part of the universe. (Follows from 2).
4) God is not measurable, testable and observable. (Claim made by theists).
5) Thus, god is not a part of the universe (From 3 and 4).
6) Thus, god does not exist. (From 1 and 5).


Notice how the only property used here is a lack of measurability, testability and/or observability. That is: either your god can be tested (and thus falsified), or it does not exist. Thus, until someone can provide me an example of a testable, observable or measurable god that has not been falsified, the only reasonable conclusion is that there is no god.

No. You can make whatever claim you like (and I've made some pretty outlandish ones). Just be prepared to defend your claims with actual decent reasoning. If you make your claim (whatever the hell it is) without such, you can expect to be shouted down, even by people who agree with the claim you're making.

Surely you're in the midst of typing up a moderation report on said user's conduct, complete with links to the posts you wish to report to as we speak, and not simply making empty threats to involve the site moderators in a potential mods-as-weapons rule violation, right? Because that wouldn't end well and I would hate to be making an innocent mistake.

In other words, cut it out. If you intend to invoke the Wrath of Mod, you had best be marching over to Moderation and reporting something and not just blowing hot air about dragging Moderation in against someone you disagree with. There is virtually never any actual purpose in SAYING your could/will go to the mods; either you're making a report, or you're not.
