By the way, Neutraligon, if you could expand the MSF nomination a bit... it's really scraping near the lower limit. Try to add something more.

You must realize I'm being sarcastic.

He has already received one peace prize for doing nothing but being black and being elected in America. Why not a NSG one?

For a real one: Ben Bernanke

I'm not very good at doing peace prize nominations since I don't keep up enough with current affairs on this issue, but Ben Bernanke was the leader in righting our economy and effectively saving millions of jobs and lives because of it. Through his work at the fed and actions of the fed while directed my him, he in essence saved us from a catastrophic spiral that would have ended in extreme poverty for many, many Americans which would have led to further crime, suicide, and other economic related deaths. Unfortunately this unsung hero is only really known in the economic community for the great work he has done.

I'll provide more reasoning if necessary, but time for me to head out.

I do. The point is that you could write a sarcastic nomination in the form of a serious one.

You should rework it. Write the FULL name and the country of origin of the nominee. Don't assume that everyone here is an American, either. Try to be a bit more official-sounding.

Congratulations to Malala Yousafzai, and Kailash Satyarthi, for winning the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

Also congratulations to Malala, for winning the REAL peace prize last year.

I would like a decent explanation as to why al-Baghdadi has been rejected.

Let's take a look at the Peace Prize's own criteria:
Since 1901, it has been awarded annually (with some exceptions) to those who have "done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.

Now let's break it down:
most or the best work for fraternity between nations

Yes. Look at all the countries working together to fight ISIS.
for the abolition or reduction of standing armies

Yes. Thanks (in part) to al-Baghdadi, there are no more "standing armies" to speak of in Syria and Iraq. It's rag-tag fighting now.
and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses

Yes. His methods are a bit...creative, but it's better than nothing!

Let's read the OP and the Peace Prize's own criteria, not some unreferenced stuff:

Alright, since it's pretty clear His Holiness isn't going anywhere, can I withdraw my nomination from Tenzin Gyatso, and instead support the nomination of the International Committee of the Blue Shield?

Some of the nominations may be controversial, as in the Nobel Peace Prize.
But they seem to be good nominations.
Pro: Independent Northern Ireland as part of neither UK or Republic, Catalan/Scottish/Basque/Welsh/Northern English/Veneto independence. Socialism, Liberalism, Palestine, Environmentalism, Anti-Capitalism, Anti-Dictatorship, New Left-Wing/Liberal Political Party in Ireland.
Anti: Chinese Dictatorship, Capitalism, Dictatorship, Both Ukrainian/Russian Governments, War of all form, Violence of all form, Anything right of centre, Israel.
Political Compass: Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.59

Proud Libertarian, Social Democrat. Live with it.
I'm Far Left Socially but Centre Left Economically.
