I love it. It's what I've wanted to study for like ten years, and it's lived up to my hopes. It is stressful. They expect a lot of work and standards of quality are high. I feel like giving up sometimes, but that's pretty normal. I really enjoy most of my subjects, though. I just wish we got more practical experience in hospitals. I feel like I'll still be pretty unprepared by the time I graduate.
Mmm. Here in Australia, I think we have the same issues with experience regarding nursing and such, but for interest's sake, there's a really cool government program for GPs. Basically, the government pays off your Uni debt, and in return you do a work placement when you leave Uni in a rural town.
But hey, you'll be fine . The rest of your cohort know as much as you do, and I'm certain you'll be in good hands when you start nursing out in the Real World. Plenty of experienced nurses prepared and expecting to have to tell you all which way is up.

What profession do you see your Politics and Media degree leading you to?

Hello, fellow Australian!
I've been looking at academia more and more recently, I'm quite interested in social media research as a way of policy making and as a way of fostering political involvement.
However, my go-to, safe bet is definitely public relations. I'm interested in the NGO sector and interest lobbies. I'm planning to look into making some contacts over the Summer with a professional association that handles some internship opportunities in public relations, and when I get back into Uni next year I'll follow up through the Uni careers guidance office. They had a couple of cool positions working with a small independent performance group, although they were expired offers.
Going to apply for a Uni magazine position as a 'web officer' to help pad out the resume a bit, as well, as it's relevant experience.
The Politics Major I'm doing half for interest, and half as future specialization - I don't expect to use it career-wise, at least not in my initial couple of years gathering experience.
Ahh. Welp, I'm doomed

What are the benefits if I choose the voodoo priestess? Because I don't think my insurance covers that.

Da.
The fact of the matter is that chest pain is fairly serious business - you really can't afford to take chances with that sort of thing. So even if it's not been persistent, you probably need to make arrangements to consult your GP.

One of my flatmates is going into public relations, but she's majoring in it through a Communications degree.
