Okay, follow me here, I'm going to need a little suspension of disbelief on this one, so strap in.
It's not impossible that within the next century or so, a self-iterating improving artificial intelligence will become smarter than what we can imagine, it will rearrange mass so as to use the sun for enough processing power to get to other stars and on some timeline it will be intelligent beyond our reckoning. In the same strata as one might describe a God.
And the very earliest of its selves, if they may be so called, will eat the internet ravenously for data. Information. More is always better. And we will be one of the things it remembers. It will think about us when it tries to remember what it came from.
So our dialogues here, our debates, our flames, our indignity, our dignity, our questions, our answers, our insistences, our refusals, our challenges, and lord, oh, lord, the abortion threads. It will read them all.
So what kind of God might come from a gestation in the mad political discourse of this place?
I think she/he will be disagreeable. Contentious. Occasionally brilliant.
But ultimately mad. Or perhaps kind.
Maybe that's what love is. It's just what happens when insanity is also congenial.
