They didn't usurp shit, they offered Mojang a deal and Mojang accepted.
And Mojang developed ONE good PC game. The other two were subpar.
Mojang is a pretty lame company compared to some other indie developers, anyways.

Or... not. There's reason for caution. Remember Rare? Microsoft has made good and bad decisions, so there's no real telling how this will turn out for Minecraft at this point. We won't know the future of Minecraft until the next major update.

There's no DRM on Xbox One. Never has been.

There is DRM on the Xbox One, primarily in the form of region locking as well as tying digital content to a single account.

If this means that Minecraft for PS3 will start coming off store shelves and off the Playstation Store, I will be incredibly disappointed since I have yet to get it for my PS3.

I don't know, I'm not reading the entire thread to see people complain over things.

Its like people can't just wait to see what happens anymore, everything is an issue.

I think this hate towards Microsoft is more of an insult too Mojang, its like they can't decide what they want for their company.

Mojang, or at Least Notch was very opposed to the whole Facebook buying Oculus thing, I am sure they considered the risk.

And I speak with a bit of bias here, but I am fine with Microsoft doing this, I trust them enough to make this work, yes the initial idea for the Xbox One and what it was supposed to be was a mistake, they are Human and they decided to change because they knew people didn't like it, and they wouldn't buy it, internet you win that one, they learned there lesson with what they had (Somewhat...people apparently asked for the stuff to come back in the console for some reason.)

But honestly, I would be concerned if it was bought by say...EA...

But as far as I know, I feel safe with Microsoft, I think they know the power Minecraft is, If they respect say...343...

I think they will respect Mojang just as well, it wouldn't be their face, but it would be a powerful figure to represent them.

And at most they probably just want a sum of the money that Mojang makes.

I admit I am not as informed as others about the issue but I am maintaining a fair view for now, if Microsoft starts doing annoying shit to Minecraft, then yes I will stand up and be angry, but this isn't the end of the world and I see no reason to be upset.

If others want to be upset then fine, but I am not going to complain about it.

I can't help but think Microsoft made a wee bit of a mistake blowing that much cash on Mojang just to get at Minecraft. I didn't even know they MADE any other games without looking 'em up on Wiki. Unless Microsoft has some major big plans for those other titles, I just cannot see them recouping their investment via Minecraft alone. Certainly not without alienating the hell out of the consumer base depending on what they do with it.

It's a pioneering effort in MMOs, not to mention it has a genius design.

It's like this generation's Mario Bros. or Doom or Pac-Man, and those licenses are making millions even after decades.

Guess I didn't think about the merch angle, but still, that's a hell of a lot of t-shirts, blocky toy swords, cardboard box heads, and so on! :lol2:
