Depends what kind of sex you're talking about. To me genitalia is just the least important (as it is the least relevant in biological functionality) of 5 basic categories of sexual corporeality through which the human species expresses sexual dimorphism.

For the record, I find that most LBGT people handle rejection pretty well. They know that statistics aren't always on their side in terms of potential romantic partners, and will very quickly back-off if they seem to be making the other person in any way uncomfortable.

I haven't been hit on any transgender people to my knowledge, but I have been hit on by a fair number of gay men (used to go to a gay bar a lot, great burgers), and saying "sorry, not gay, just here for the food" was about pretty damn effective. Some of them obviously didn't believe me, but nobody kept pushing. Except for two guys who tried to hook me up with a female friend, which was not unwelcome.

So I don't get why people are so freaked out. Unless their afraid that they might suddenly get overwhelmed by confusing feelings and end up crying in the bathroom of a hotel room somewhere while a burly voice outside asks "honey, are you okay?"

From a purely outside rational view and my perspective as a man...yeah, it's nice to have a penis, but women are so much more aesthetically pleasing, not just because I am attracted to them ( ) as a pan male, but idk, it's easier to be male in this sexist world, not to mention, you don't have to shave as much for people who find it icky. Not to mention, no periods.

It's only disturbing if you say you're not interested and the guy does not take the hint, or if you purposely ignore them and they keep trying anyway. I have been hit on by another woman before, but she wasn't obnoxious about it.

Hormones do more than help you grow body hair, just an fyi.

People typically transition because their gender doesn't match their sex (in the case of binary trans people their brains resemble the brain of someone of the opposite sex, or at least the grey matter does) and they're more comfortable as the opposite sex. Dysphoria plays a role as well.

Yeah, you're right about that, but if you could switch without looking any different from a regular male, it's likely the benefits would still be there. That's a huge assumption, however, and I find the transphobia that my classmates used to joke about in my all male catholic high school to be horrible.

Because the alternative is to live as a woman, suffer from periods and being frowned at for not shaving your armpits, and most of all being so unhappy and disgusted with your body and its biology that you're just as likely to slit your wrists as tolerate yet another day of it. Do note that the only reason I have decided that the suicidal ideation belongs into the days past, is that I have decided to try to apply for the transformation process. If I truly was "doomed" to live as woman the rest of my life, I'd be looking at another 40+ unhappy years, and thus suicide would definitely look like the better option.
