Yeh Sony still have them from when Tobey Maguire was in the suit. I think their rights were to about expire, actually, which is why they rebooted.
I'm half an hour in and I might as well look up the ending because I'm fairly certain I know what all the major plot points will be. It's a 2 hour long film, FFS, have at least a little mystery.
