The economy crashed under Bush ;) Wanna try again? These things can't get fixed over night, and despite what some far rightwing nutjobs say the economy has gotten better since 2008.

So true... I figured, given the magnitude of the whole the US finances were in post-Bush, that it would take about fifteen to twenty years to recover...and that was without the Supreme Court happily handing corporations the keys to the castle.

Yeah, why aren't we pursuing military funding equivalent to the entire fucking planet combined instead of a measly two-thirds of the rest of the fucking planet combined? "Right-sizing" is only accurate if you mean "funding at a level acceptable to the most rabid members of the far-right".

right sizing, instead of wasting money on the F-35 and building new tanks we can put the money towards research of new tech. Plus haven't you seen the navy adds before? 'A global force for good'

Good in general, but his foreign policy is flawed.

EDIT: Although to be fair, he has been in a very difficult situation with foreign affairs. He couldn't do a Bush and send the troops in, because he'd seen what the opinion polls thought of Bush. The American people had already seen one tactic fail, so they were waiting for another. It would have been incredibly hard to come up with a foreign policy guaranteed to work, because he had to try something new.

Well, there is former Secretary of State Clinton. But on the Republican side, who? John McCain, the Angry Old Man of the Senate, who let his party force Sarah Palin on him as a running mate? Mitt Romney, the Poor Little Rich Boy? And we won't even go into the Republicans who didn't win the nomination, except to say that Jon Huntsman would have had to kiss so much Tea Party ass getting there he'd lose any credibility as a "moderate."

Why isn't there a "good but worse than Bush" option? As if everyone here regards Bush to be worse than Obama?

Six years in, Obama's inexperience is painfully obvious. But mainly I think the problem is that while he could have been a good president under different circumstances, it would be impossible in the current backdrop.

He's neither a bad nor a good president. Middle of the road, probably will drop a little closer to my bottom end over time.

I'm sure all the health insurance companies that helped him fund raise and champion this cause won't forget about their ally in the white house...its how American politics work...buy your politician and use him or her for all their worth...

How about Obama fixes the homeless issue or something more noble then fucking forcing us to go to a stupid doctor?!

So, Obama is going to get rich off of Obamacare, because the insurance companies, whom are being slapped by obamacare since it makes them actually cover stuff for poorer people, are going to reward him discreetly later on for passing it...And I do think that it was a noble cause, trying to get proper healthcare for everyone, although the results may or may not be noble.

Actually, given the no-public-option problem, the ACA is probably the biggest give-away to insurance companies in a very long time. Imagine 40 million new people to predate on... Obama is this generation's Jimmy Carter.
Your nation is like a son. What it does right is your merit, as well as what it does wrong is your fault. When you praise it, be lucid and avoid exaggeration. Praising it too much can make it indolent. On the other hand, when you criticize it, be harsh, but do not ridicule it. Do your best to improve it, not through derision or disdain, but through good examples and dedication.

No, its the forcing everyone to have the same healthcare. And considering its the US government, who has refined their ways of killing since 1776, it will.

Now, if it was "all poor people, if you can't afford another, need this" then it wouldn't be too much of a problem. My family is doing just fine under Kaiser, I'd rather not have Obamacare.

President Obama issued an order closing Guantanamo in 2009. Congress promptly had a hissy fit and refused to fund it.
