I've been slowly, very slowly, incorporating Hinduism into my life. I was born in the West, to a Christian family (very lax Catholic family). When I was a child, Catholicism sufficed. As I grew up, however, I began to question many things regarding the religion I was born into, not to mention the loss of any comfort I may have felt being Catholic.

I reached a turning point when I became a university student. Became very agnostic, but open to the concept of divinity. I just wasn't sure about Christianity anymore. Then, a year ago, I started reading about Hinduism and something stroke a chord in me. I'm particularly very taken with Ganesha Ganpati. Something about the elephant headed god and what he represents began to comfort me deeply. Especially whenever I stare into the eyes of his effigies. I don't know what it is. I just feel a sense of well-being from Hinduism.

In my six years in a Christian boarding school, I came to the conclusion that whatever I did would get me burning in hell for eternity.

Because Hellenic mythology has any place at a boarding school?
Other than the mythology class of-course.

Atheistic crusades are nowhere near impressive as you may think.

All we do is get drunk and have sex with prostitutes until we all wake up outside of a church covered in barf and piss and with 1 out of every 50 people suffering from some kind of disease.

Hey, just because we're a bunch of ransacking barbarians doesn't mean we don't make sure we get our shots.

Hardly considering the last atheist crusade resulted in the remaining 4/5ths to be diagnosed with severe sexually transmitted diseases. Not to mention they lost.

I guess the best way to discribe my views on religion is that I'm a atheistic cultural Christian. While I do not believe in god or a religion for that matter I still do typical Christian things especially when it comes to holidays. I was raised eppenicostal so church on Easter and Christmas are a big deal with my family and I do go with them and while I don't believe I still bow my head in respect for those how are praying and who do believe. Aside from a lot of that I'm a typical atheist.
