Well, for creative writing, stuff like folklore, psychology, or sociology can be useful things to have a little knowledge about, and basic courses in those subjects probably would count for some of your gen-ed requirements.

Dude, easy. Do you have a Big Lots nearby? Because they sell the Vigo kit. All you need is to add peas and any other sea food you like, like shrimp, lobster, scallops... Or any leftover meat. :D

I wanted to learn how to write better so History was the route I took.

Can't say I was disappointed. The degree taught me how to write and tell a story, among other things :p
