I like Mormons. Second favorite Religion.
Not sure what you are getting at with the latter.

Mormonism was founded by a fraud who claimed he could read ancient Egyptian, and that native Americans are descended from a Hebrew tribe that crossed the Atlantic (which genetic tests reveal is utterly a lie) - and they somehow had horses, metal swords, iron production, swine, and cattle before the Europeans even brought them to American after Columbus re-discovered America.

From a Christian (or even Muslim) perspective, not only is Smith a liar and fraud, but also a heretic, false prophet, and blasphemer.

I never said anything about ignoring it.

Ignoring the Old Testament is stupid because you can't understand the NT without the background presented in the OT.

Fundamentalists insist that every verse of the OT is just as true and important as every verse of the NT. So, divine commands to kill all the women and children in a city are just as important as "Love your enemies".

I and my fellow Mennonites think this makes little sense.

Get information from the OT as background, and give more weight to the prophets (Claus Westermann calls Isaiah "the Gospel of the OT"), but concentrate on the NT and especially the Gospels, if you are a Christian. It's right there in our name; we are followers of CHrist, not followers of Gideon or Ehud or Jeptha.

This is why Calvin is a fool. The concept of a maniacal God laughing as he chucks people into hell is utterly at odds with Christianity.

How can you judge, with confidence, the salvation of another person?

How do you know you are interpretting it correctly? No matter what denomination you are, there is someone who will call you a heretic, someone who will say you are interpretting it incorrectly.

That actually only applies to Revelation, as Revelation is its own separate Book. Written after some of the epistles even which by your view would make some problems for the Bible.

Edit: also the Bible has been edited for centuries so even more problems.
