Should Sealand be considered a nation?

Well, it would set a pretty bad precedent, since any crank who didn't want to pay taxes could just get few people together and declare himself a nation.

I have no idea.

I can imagine some fellow crying out to the United Nations for having overgrown poison ivy in his sovereign land of 1 1/2 acres, or the host nation posing economic sanctions and bringing down his country by not selling him lawn equipment. Impossible, but a hilarious thought nonetheless.

Sealand does not fit the requirements for a nation and if it were to be recognized, or even have formal boundaries, it would make the U.N. and England look like even more of a joke (assuming they could get any more laughable)

It's just an oil well, in the middle of The Channel. And if become independent, most nation won't recognise it, it will be like Somaliland, unrecognised.
