1) Racial fusion is scientifically more beneficial for the human race. It promotes the mixture of various genome types. With more mutations, the human race can grow more powerful (essentially, evolution).

The heritage thing is strange to me as well but it makes a little more sense, at least.

What about this: I love my heritage. I'm not sure if I'm exactly "proud" though, because the feeling is not exactly the same. It's more like an interesting part of my identity, and I find other people's heritage interesting too. It's similar to how you can really like and be interested in yours and other people's names, a part of identity, while not exactly being proud.
