Aye. I have a fairly small set of authors that I prefer over any other...

I noticed that sometime ago, but thought nothing of it and still don’t.
Sansa Stark is the best Game of Thrones character, closely followed by Theon Greyjoy.

I never got into star trek for the same reason, it seems boring to me when it's not a small-scale story and is instead a universe.

One good thing about Star Trek is that the Enterprise crew largely remain the same. It takes place over an entire universe, but the main crew remain the same.

What kind of historical fiction? My favorites are James Wilde’s Time of the Wolf, and Bernard Cromwell’s Ughtred of Bebbanburg books.

Currently I'm into Crusades' fiction like Crossed, from Nicole Galland. You can say that I'm in a Medieval historical fiction frame of mind. Next on my list is Ellis Peters' Brother Cadfael mysteries. Love those.

I think I'm slowly starting to dislike twilight. The movie, at least. Kinda crappy acting.

Unless it's one episode of ST: The Next Generation, they don't even leave the Galaxy.
Star Trek Voyager only goes 70,000 light years from Earth(The entire series is them trying to get back to Earth)
Hell, Star Trek Deep Space 9 doesn't even move that much. :P
They're not boring, I recommend starting one The Next Generation(Season's 1-3 isn't as good as season's 4-7 though)

I'm certain there's historical fiction on that. I just have never read any.

There are quite a few books on the subject in general. I just wrote a big term paper on the Crusades, namely the First Battle of Antioch.

Galland's book centers on the Fourth Crusade. What turned out to be Doge Dandolo's crime against Byzantium.
