There's a picture of the hair styles (at least the male ones, anyway) in the article.

Just saw the article, and there's two pictures, what are you talking about?

Anyway, those haircuts are so dull, boring, and lifeless. I'd rather have an 80's haircut.

Ah... I had Javascript blocked, and the female one didn't show for whatever reason.

Also, I pasted the wrong link, but you saw the article, so it doesn't really matter.

Even better, everybody (men and women) should be required to have their head shaved every Monday. This will ensure unity and equality. It would be a socialist dream right?

But if we don't have the government to tell us how to cut our hair, everything will descend into bad hair day chaos.

The funny thing about this is, Kim Jong-un seems to be rolling a custom hair style. I suspect he is a capitalist pig-dog infiltrator.

He is being a hypocrite, I am not shocked.

It looks like 1 haircut viewed from 28 different angles.

That's the undeniable superiority of the Juche doctrine in action for you. All shall be equal!

#12 is the only good one on that list. That must have been accidental, as the theme seems to be a list of hair cuts no one would want. They should just make #12 mandatory for all females and males.

I would say that this is silly, but this is North Korea. Asking why they do crap like this is like asking if wood is flammable.

Now I known also why nobody is interested in North Korean hairstyle. Indeed, number 12 must be a accident to be there, or Kim jong-un wife will have that hairstyle.

Yeah. They're pretty normal.

Do you believe the North Korean government should restrict what hairstyles the citizens can and cannot have?

I don't think why a government should waste time regulating haircuts.

Number 12 really is too good to be in that list of dystopian haircuts.

Because it can. The slippery slope fallacy doesn't seem to apply to Juche totalitarianism.

To me, it sounds like something from their propaganda.

"North Korea" is not a term anyone in the DPRK uses because it acknowledges the legitimate existence of another Korea. The same would go for the concept of "best". Both states claim sovereignty over the whole territory.

So what?

This only proves the North Koreans still haven't grown any balls.

Well, Singapore banned long hair for men back in the 1970s. That severely limited the choice of haircuts available at the time.

It's ridiculous to force people to pick from certain haircuts. The entire concept behind North Korea is ridiculous.

Some of those haircuts are OK-not that I have any idea what passes for a good hairstyle.

No, of course NK shouldn't be able to do this. But then that's NK for you, the nastiest, most depressing place on Earth.

As apposed to the Libertarian dream of letting the corporations copyright certain hairstyles, requiring us to dye logos into our hair if we wish to have certain cuts.

See? I can strawman too.

Sadly many on NSG think N. Korea is better than S. Korea. I hear North Korea being called 'Best' Korea a lot on here I have never heard it called 'best Korea' anywhere else. Seems a lot of NSG people really hate capitalism.

"Best Korea" is a joke based on the North's insistence that it is superior to its southern neighbor in every possible way. Get a sense of humor, will you?
