Ideas are not the same as the application of the idea. There are a number of people, who don't pay taxes.

So it's alright for the government to make you do anything it wants to then? Because governments are infallible?
The government is the monopoly of authority in this region, so they can do whatever they want. Governments are not necessarily infallible, but they can do whatever they want. This does not mean there can be no resistance to what they do though.Nua Corda wrote:
So, basically the trust-fund babies get all the jobs, the poor people get even more fucked, and the middle class becomes the new poor. Sounds like your typical right-wing agenda.

You're being deliberately obtuse, right?Abatael wrote:Sarkhaan wrote:People are not educated for free, as there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Education is paid for via property taxes primarily, with free delivery at the point of service. We all pay into the system in the form of taxes, of which we would have far less of were it not for having a large, educated workforce.
Education is not lunch, and, in fact, public schools do offer free or reduced lunch. (They offer both.
Not everyone pays taxes.

I have absolutely no idea what goes on in the minds of people like this. Seriously. It's just such an alien fucking mindset.
I mean, I thought people with this sort of mindset existed only as the people we're supposed to hate in history books. Holy fuck man.

Luckily, the world just so happens to not be Mad Max, and organized governments, despite consolidation of power, DO have limits on the power they can exert over the people. Namely, governments should be restricted from intentionally treating people like shit to maintain power. No government that is unloved by its own people should exist.

I don't know what Mad Max is. They do counter-productively have self-placed limits on themselves, which is inane. Governments should govern, with its only regard to keeping its subjects in line, howsoever they wish to do that.

It's particularly impressive when it comes from people who are not members of the upper tiers of society. They could just find a nice dom master/mistress and be all set, and let the rest of us live productive lives.
