Most Inspiring Moment in History

Postby Delanshar » Tue Nov 27, 2012 5:12 pm

What do you think was the most inspiring moment in history. Why?

Personally I have a few. I think that the formation of the USA was very inspiring, because it was one of the first republics during a time when most of the world was ruled by Autocratic Kings. Also I think the Battle of Adwa was very inspiring. It was the moment when Ethiopia kicked Italy's ass and showed the world that European colonists were far from invincible. It was a moral boost for Africa, which was dealing with European colonial expansion throughout the continent.

Also Thermopolayae (not sure if spelling that right). For similar reasons.

And Moon Landing.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Probably the Enlightenment?

I'd say it influenced quite a bit of things throughout history...

That's because at the time it was pretty much the only African state left. But still, you don't exactly quiver in your boots at the thought of the mighty Ethiopian army

Ethiopia had artillery and firearms. Few if any other African nations did. Your belittling of the Ethiopian army is based on your views of them now. That is a mistake.

The most modern African army fought arguably the least modern and professional western European army at the time.

Maybe not the cities, but the rest i agree. All 3 made life for hmans easier, more productive, and survivable.

But a more recent event id say would be FDR getting voted as president. His sucsess helped our nation our nation recover from the worst depresion in history, win WWII, establish the U.S. as the leading superpower, and quite frankly, he was a boss XD
